John Lewis
International Historian lecturing on his new book about A. T. Still.
In 1991, during his first year at the BSO, John Lewis read Dr. Still’s Autobiography. Inspired by the timeless wisdom it contained and puzzled as to why it was not being taught, in 1997 he traveled to Kirksville, Missouri, to investigate further. Through the generous support of Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine he remained there for four and a half years, immersing himself in the place, its history and the school’s archive collections.
After returning home to Wales Mr. Lewis spent a further decade honing and refining his understanding of the founder’s life, philosophy and teachings and in December 2012 self-published a definitive biography, A . T. Still: From the Dry Bone to the Living Man. Mr. Lewis’s current mission is to reintroduce the founder’s philosophy and principles to the profession and explain why it is essential for us all to understand them.
This lecture will involve one day of historical lectures.
