Dr. Karen Snider DO Lectures on OMM for Children and Infants.
Dr. Snider is Professor and Chair of the Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (OMM) Department at the A.T. Still University – Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine (ATSU/KCOM). Dr. Snider is board certified in neuromusculoskeletal medicine/OMM. She is actively involved in OMM research and serves on many committees including KCOM’s Interdisciplinary Research Committee and Institutional Review Board.
Dr. Snider earned her DO degree from the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine. She earned both a BS in Biochemistry and a MS in Horticulture from Va Tech in Blacksburg, VA. She has published and presented widely, and has won numerous awards, including the State of Missouri Governor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching – 2004, ATSU/KCOM Clinical Researcher of the Year -2005, A.T. Still Staff Award for Excellence in Teaching in Clinical Science – 2010, and Sigma Xi, Kirksville Chapter –Co-Recipient Researcher of the Year Award -2011.
This presentation will cover the osteopathic manipulative treatment approach for a wide variety of common pediatric complaints including newborn feeding disorders, colic, benign positional plagiocephaly, and respiratory illnesses. Presentation will include hands-on training and video demonstrations of osteopathic treatment of the newborn, infant, and child.
